Metin Coşgel

Metin Coşgel is professor of economics at the University of Connecticut. His current research interests include the deep roots of comparative development in the Middle East and Eastern Europe and the historical origins and political economy consequences of ethnic, racial, and religious diversity around the world. He is the author of The Economics of Ottoman Justice: Settlement and Trial in the Sharia Courts  ( with Boğac Ergene),  Cambridge University Press (November, 2016).
